This morning I transferred 20 Steem Dollars (SBD)( Earned from posting on Steemit) to Bittrex and sold them for Bitcoin.
I have been thinking about it for some days because the SBD and Bitcoin price BTC, have stalled or gone down. I hesitated because of being unsure which has the greater potential for growth again.
Anarchist ;The Dollar Vigilante, has been attending the Anarchist annual conference - Anarchapulco - in Acapulco Mexico, but resumed sending his newsletter this morning.
I don't hold with his radical anarchist views, but do give some weight to his thoughts on cryptocurrencies
I was surprised to hear that he has changed his view on the future of Bitcoin,so that pushed me to making the decision to change some SBD to BTC.
The Dollar Vigilante Newsletter
It’s been a long time!
I warned that Anarchapulco and the TDV Summit would have my full attention for the last few weeks, but now I am back! You can expect a lot more content to begin rolling out soon.
But, during Anarchapulco, I had a chance to do an interview with Josh Sigurdson of World Alternative Media about the latest news and controversy surrounding the bitcoin vs. Bitcoin Cash debacle.
You can see the full interview here:
I continue to change my views based on new evidence and have a few reasons why I am turning quite bullish on bitcoin, again, based on what I see happening via some high level contacts.
You might be surprised to hear my reasoning and why I still don’t have confidence that bitcoin will ever be usable as digital cash, but think it may be time to be buying again.
You can get access to the next issue of the TDV newsletter coming out likely tomorrow to hear my analysis. As well as an in depth analysis of privacy coins. You can subscribe HERE.

In Damning Bitcoin; Leading Economist Confirms It's Worth !
Old but true saying -
There are none so blind as those who will not see
Recently Warren Buffet’s investment chief Charles Munger referred to bitcoin as “noxious poison”.
He’s not the only top financial expert to rubbish Bitcoin & Cryptocurrencies of course.
It really is astonishing, it cannot be seen that a currency universal to all countries, must be a quicker, less costly way to move money between nations.
Instead of this -
In November we heard the same sort of thing from Josef Stiglitz. A Nobel Prize winning economist, no less.
Here’s what he had to say about bitcoin:
“It ought to be outlawed. It doesn’t serve any socially useful function.”
“Bitcoin is successful only because of its potential for circumvention, lack of oversight.”
Cambridge English Dictionary definition of circumvention - 'To avoid something, especially cleverly or illegally:
So… bitcoin has no useful function... except the rather obvious function of allowing people to escape or avoid the financial system.
Thanks for that Top Economists !
What they make abundantly clear is that they simply do not understand this new money revolution.
The very point of bitcoin is to provide a viable alternative to the financial system that simply does not work for everyone anymore.
Its rise has been brought about by its independence from financial authorities that have abused their monopoly position. - example - 2007 Banking Crisis.
And as much as they might want it to go away… it will not.
Nor has it come anywhere near its full potential.
For there are many more equally expert financial experts than the naysayers, who see cryptoocurrencies not only staying, but achieving massive price increases in the leading coins.
Billionaire hedge fund legend Mike Novogratz believes it will “easily reach” a price of $40,000 per Bitcoin in 2018. Was as high as $20,000 per Bitcoin 2 months ago.Today Wednesday 21st Feb. - $10,724.70
Paypal director Wences Casares is even bolder, stating that “bitcoin could hit $1m in 5-10 years.”
Internet security pioneer John McAfee agrees, stating his belief that bitcoin will hit $1m by 2020.
Way back in 2013, McAfee was quoted saying “you can’t stop things like bitcoin… it’s like trying to stop gunpowder.”
And here’s the thing you really must wake up to… bitcoin is just the beginning.
If you’re not into bitcoin yet – stop faffing about! invest what you can afford to lose. That is the wisest strategy always.
It should be every investor's first port of call. If it goes to $100k this year – as it well could – you will be over the moon you finally picked some up.
Yes this is a risky and volatile market. That’s real. And so too is the enormous potential to increase your investment in it. That’s why only stake a small amount of funds you won't miss.
Approach this opportunity with caution but ambition and you have a real shot at a huge pay off.
And here’s the thing most people can’t fathom…
Cryptocurrencies are evolving into their own specialist fields. Bitcoin for spending in the shops and personal foreign travel.- Ripple for Business Foreign Exchange Transacting. - Ethereum for Contracts i.e Business Contracts.Mortgage Contracts. Dogecoin for pet lovers. They pronounce it dogeecoin, and use it in pet shops.
A downside to cryptocurrencies is they cannot give loans. But I'm hearing that Dashcoin is looking at that area.
Bank Loans have driven and are driving the major world economies. We would not enjoy the standard of living we have without loan facilities. But control must be more rigidly enforced to avoid adding to debt crises
You could get into cryptocurrencies with no risk at all.Write articles, poems, put photos, artwork on Steemit, and be paid in Steem Dollars (SBD) a cryptocurrency.
Post on Facebook - Mr Billionaire Zuckerburg benefits.Post on Steemit - You benefit.
I don't agree with the Anarchist views that this is a financial revolution with the potential to bring down governments.
We do not want that chaos. Many of them write on Steemit, and I follow a few just to get an alternative view point.
Most were gathered at their annual conference last Sunday & Monday in Acapulco.Mexico. https://anarchapulco.com/
I see a combination of the existing and the new financial instruments.
To bring real competition and efficiency.
Some banks have already started a charm offensive. As an example you may have seen this bank advert -
" Our policy is to profit with our Customers - not from our Customers."
Title - Love Letters Unfulfilled – Talent Undiscovered
Inspired by the topic on Steemit – Your life in 8 Songs –
and by a lady friend – Dee – who guest posted with her story in songs on this
blog last week, I started to write, but having more decades on the age clock
than most, memorable song after song kept flooding my mind.
So I’m recalling a few most memorable
I suppose it was introducing last week’s post, about my fear
of the school dentist’s pedal operated drilling contraption, that triggered the
Pam Ayres thoughts on the subject, in her very funny verse & dialect.
Here’s a taster of the words in the first verse –
Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth,
And spotted the dangers beneath
All the toffees I chewed,
And the sweet sticky food.
Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth.
Funny, yes but when delivered in her broad – is it
Gloucestershire accent? -It adds another
funny dimension.
Hear and enjoy the 8 hysterical rhyming verses treat here –
Al Jolson ‘Mammy’
Memorable because when I was 21 I lived with my parents in a
converted red double decker bus for 2 years. (It was the subject of a post on
this blog, but I can’t remember the title.)
The bus was parked on a garage yard. In a bungalow next door
lived Dee ( My last week’s guest poster) with her family. She was a school girl
at the time, but her older brother and I became good friends through a similar
taste in music – especially Al Jolson.
Derrick had a talent for impressions and he could sing
Jolson in the family front room, as good as the star himself on stage.
The voice and the impressive physical delivery – acting the
story – down on one knee, arms outstretched, black face uplifted to the heavens
– pleading -
‘Mammy Mammy, I'm comin',
Sorry that I made you wait. I'm comin’, hope and trust that
I'm not late,
oh oh oh Mammy,My little Mammy,
I'd walk a million miles for one
of your smiles,My Mammy!
I have a vivid memory picture of Derrick performing that
word for word, in style ,voice, and action.
I couldn’t find a good recording, but here is a re-mastered
recording of Larry Parks singing ‘Sonny Boy’ in the Jolson style, and dubbed
with Jolson singing the song.
Road to Morroco.Bob Hope.Bing Crosby.Dorothy Lamour
I was called for Army National Service at age 18 in
1944.After infantry training, I was posted to Burma and embarked on the
converted luxury liner ‘Monarch of Bermuda’.
They made sure there
was not much luxury to soften us. Top to Tail hammock sleeping. The smelly
feet getting stronger the nearer we got to the tropical heat of India.
The cinema was usable afternoons, before hammock hanging
time, and hearing Road to Morrocco brings that memorable - Phew ! experience back.
Here It is – Pity it’s not in Smelly Vision.
It was only a Winters Tale
I left behind in Blighty my first ever steady girlfriend,
and we exchanged weekly letters for several months – SWALK on the envelope –
all those kind of lover’s acronym messages.
2 years is a long time for young love to be apart, and so
sadly, love withered.
Although’ It Was Only A Winter’s Tale’ is not of that time,
hearing it always takes me back to our army tent in Burmese jungle land, and
the dawning realisation that my first love, the most impressionable, intense,
romantic memory of all, had gone cold, and I would never now send a letter
with BURMA on the flap!
. At my age a certain thought surfaces
sometimes. That sentence should tell you what it is.
Rita Cooledge and Kriss Kristofferson are two of my
favourite duettists. ‘Please Don’t tell Me How The Story Ends’ is about their
marriage break up.
There is so much feeling in the performance that although it
shows their love for each other, and they were made for one another, still they
must part.
As you can see the memes above received a total of $2.56. Peanuts of course in relation to those $70 ones I showed in Thursdays post.
But they are Steem Dollars and 1 Steem Dollar today - (see chart at bottom of post)is worth $5.67 USDollars so adding a saying or a joke to a suitable picture has paid me about $13 USDollars
The other thing to remember is that Cryptocurrency prices are starting to rise again so that $13 is a free indirect investment in Bitcoin (BTC) through Steem Dollar (SBD)
It's an easy and risk free way of being involved in the biggest revolutionary change to world financial systems ever, with potential huge price rises ahead as more and more learn about what is happening.
Most of the general public are unaware of the change going on in the financial world.Yes, they've seen bits of publicity about Bitcoin, but feel it's unlikely to affect them !! Wrong !!
Even the banks are sleep walking.
It is a bit involved withdrawing money from Steemit. I decided to test it last week by withdrawing $100.First I had to change SteemDollars to Bitcoin with the Bittrex exchange. They don't send money to UK banks, so I had to send the Bitcoin to an exchange that does - Coinbase.
They don't exchange Bitcoin for the British Pound (GBP) only into Euros.
So yesterday I go into my bank for advice on receiving Bitcoin or Euros into my account.
Shock Horror !! - Did I say a rude word - Bitcoin ?
Yes, the banking advice lady had seen bits of publicity about Bitcoin in the news, but no official training on dealing with Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies had been undertaken, or even mentioned in internal bank reports.
But yes, the bank can receive Euros and change them to GBPs
There is a new branch of Steemit - The Social Media Platform that pays you to post
.
It is dMania which is similar to Steemit, but instead you earn by posting Memes.
Some are earning big as you can see in two examples below.
See the earnings $81.55 !! 115 votes 37 comments
And this one below $75.30
I've posted the 2 memes below starting yesterday.
They've only earned about $1.50 each -.I say about, because they are cryptocurrency dollars, which if you are following Bitcoin news you will know the currencies are subject to high volatility, but the overall trend is up.
I started posting on Steemit in January 2017 and my earnings from 1 post a week, 4 months later April 2017, stood at $72, Then Bitcoin (BTC) mania took off.
Today, 13 months since joining, my account is at $2100.That is solely from earnings but mainly from the rise in cryptocurrency prices.
I have not deposited any money. My account has been as high as $4700,but took a dive a month ago to stabilising to where it is now, and started to rise again these last few days.
You have to join dMania through Steemit. There is a wait of about a week, not because of restricting applicants, but time taken to process the increasing applications.
Like the majority of contributors to both platforms,I am puzzled by how the big earnings are made, and there is much discussion about it amongst low earners, which is the majority, .
It is based on votes earned for content on both Steemit and dMania but some have few votes and high payout and then the opposite can be seen.
The saving grace however is that the payments are in a cryptocurrency,so if a post or meme is paid just $1 with the Steem dollar (SBD) price on the exchanges presently being about $4 US dollars and subject to rise big in the future then I'm staying in and working to find the secret to joining the top guys.
Who better to teach how to stay younger longer than someone Done it/doing
it!
I am an 91-year-old retired businessman living in The U.K. My
late wife and I, owned and ran ‘The Marches’ a very successful health and
nutrition shop and restaurant in Hereford U.K for 32 years (1972 – 2004).
Our first advert - The picture is discoloured from damp in the garage,
My beliefs and practices.
"Knowledge is power. Everyone should strive to
self-improve throughout life. The positive effects of exercising and educating
the mind are many, providing benefits and rewards in personal, career and
business life far greater than the effort expended in learning.
Thinking and doing right pays high dividends in gains to
confidence, self-esteem and overall wellbeing, whilst also adding more years to
the average span, and more importantly – they are lived and enjoyed rather than
endured.
Bad news - No one wants to be old, but until they discover
an elixir of youth, the ability to retain youthful looks and energy depends to
a great extent on our own approach and effort.
Good News – Aging can be slowed. You can with effort and a
plan, look, act, and have the youthful health, vigour and figure at least 10
years younger than your calendar says.
The assumption that getting old means developing a skin like
a wrinkled prune, losing the ability to get around, whilst also facing the
possibility of developing incontinence and dementia, is a nightmare vision of
aging that need not be. If you know the formula and follow it.
Talking about incontinence – you’ll know it’s not your day when
you ring their help line and are put on hold.
I’ve always enjoyed a laugh. That is important in the
staying young formula.
And laughter is all around in everyday life – last week I put my purchases on the
supermarket counter. The cashier (who I knew and likes to banter) said “You’re a bit late aren’t you”? Puzzled,
I looked at my purchases – A pair of reading glasses (I was picking up for
someone) and a bag of carrots!
That there is a blueprint to slow down aging is self-evident.
Just look around. While some people seem to be struggling to stand up straight
and remember their name at age 65, others are still playing sports and writing
books well into their 80s and 90s.
Is the difference entirely genetic? No! In fact, there are
numerous lifestyle changes that can make all the difference to the way you feel
as you age, and many of the problems that are associated with old-age are life
style inflicted and can be avoided.
In a nutshell – For most people born healthy, the way they
age is almost entirely in their hands!
The Circle of Life
It's crazy, but in one sense mobility starts to deteriorate
from the moment we are born. The flexibility of the new born to put toes in
their mouths has gone within 2 years.
Fortunately, such a trick is not a lifetime essential, but
it is the start of what I call wearing in for the first 35 years or so and
wearing out for the rest.
In youth it is easy to keep fit and healthy without thinking
or planning. Effort is easy and a pleasure.
Running around, playing sports and doing things we enjoy will
provide natural fitness until we reach our mobility peak around middle age.
Then change starts, so thought, planning, discipline and
effort should be given to slow the ‘Circle
of Life’s’ reverse back to wobbling like a baby again, but without the joint
flexibility and ability to bounce.
But we can do it through the things most of us love – Eating and Playing - Good Food &
Sport (an Aerobic activity. Something that raises the breathing, but still be
able to converse. I chose competitive Table Tennis and Rambling or Trekking.
NUTRITION
Eat Right Be Right - Poor nutrition is responsible for a
many of the problems people struggle with as they get older. Health issues
associated with old age usually result from years of poor nutrition.
A lack of nutrients
can lead to problems with vision, problems with hormone production, problems
with bone density and much more.
Thus, by giving the diet the attention and planning it
merits. ‘EAT TO LIVE' should be the guide, not 'LIVE TO EAT’.
By including the
right balance of protein, fruit and vegetables, the body's immune system will
be better able to combat attacks on health. Building the foundation to better achieve
this aspiration –
Successful Aging is
Quality of Life Enjoyed, not Aging Years Existed.
The earlier the decision to plan and make the most of your
body and health by attention to diet and exercise the easier it will be.
Good habits become ingrained, programmed. YOU have the
choice – It’s simple -
Do the things you love. Proper Exercise & Diet. The
sooner you take action, the longer you will be -
'
Kicking -The tin can of 'ageing' further and further down Life's Highway.
I couldn't find a cartoon character looking happy kicking the can of ageing - ooh I wish I could draw!
I'm a horse racing fan and like a bet.I have good days and the opposite -
