Hatched. Matched. & Dispatched

A wife got so mad at her husband she
packed his bags and told him to get out.

As he walked to the door she yelled,
'I hope you die a long, slow, painful death.'

He turned around and said, '
So, you want me to stay?.

I’m still a bit down caused by the recent eye scare and the skin rash. In 91 years I don’t get ill, so these health setbacks have shocked my morale and triggered the glums.

But I must make an effort.I don’t want to give up Steemit because I think it is going to be big. I just want it to happen in my lifetime, so it had better get on with it.

When you get to my age you will have seen a few christenings, weddings and funerals. I’ve only ever been best man once where I had to make a speech and I found it a nerve wracking experience.

Spreading the Message

I also gave talks on Natural Health and Nutrition to village Women’s Institutes in our County. I found that much easier because of my enthusiasm for the subject.

I also had products from the shop on a table in front of me as I spoke. They acted as props and reminders if I started to dry and struggle. I would hold up a package of wheat germ and relate its health benefits as a source of natural Vitamin E.

Don’t forget this was in 1972.You are all familiar with this now, but back then it was pioneering ground-breaking stuff. Cranks in many people’s eyes.

Health Food Shop & Vegetarian Restaurant opens 1972.

My timing in opening the shop was lucky in that the tide was about to turn for the health food movement. What had been the subject of ridicule and scorn, started to gain the attention and support of national publications, prompted by obesity becoming increasingly evident and obvious in citizens of advanced nations.

The greater the wealth of a nation the more noticeable the straining waistbands of it’s citizens. Increasing wealth means bigger temptations testing  individual self will and  discipline.

I’ve also been pursuing my new interest in Memes. Could they be the answer to the reducing attention span of readers. There is so much content hitting peoples eyeballs that there are just nano seconds in which to get their attention.

In finding quotes for memes I was surprised by the prolific output of memorable words by former President Ronald Reagan.Winston Churchill is the politician mostly associated with eye catching quotes, but search Ronald Reagan’s quotes portfolio to find many gems too.

His ‘Trust, But Verify’ saying has been used recently in articles about Crypto Currencies. We should be able to trust our banks, but these days many feel transactions  have to be independently verified too. Transactions on the Blockchain are Trust and Verify combined.

Psst! - Want to buy a Painting?

An example of an attention-grabbing picture with a line of intriguing content that compels further investigation is a tall order, but I found one last night.

A picture recently sold for $110.5 million at Sothebys. That was a stopper headline for me. It was on the telly last night. A BBC programme about the young artist genius –  Jean Michel Basquiat - Died age 27. But what a legacy of art he has left the world.

Graffiti art, not to everyone’s liking, but the skill in the message behind what seems like scribble. Brilliant. Sensational.

There is an exhibition of his work at The Barbican London now until January 28th 2018.Crowds are flocking.

For more examples of  Basquiat's - Link to The Barbican - http://bit.ly/2xtn6ng

You can't buy the $110 million painting, but you can buy a mug and coaster set as a souvenir of his art.- see the Amazon advert at the top of the sidebar on the right,

How to Print a Motor Bike!

I’m approaching writing and posting this with some caution.3 weeks ago I had aching eyes and double vision when writing on this computer. I had been on rather a long time that day.

I’ve had an eye test and new glasses with protection coating for computer use.

So here goes. Fingers crossed.

Don’t Blink

Such is the speed of change taking place, the headline ‘That’s Yesterday’s News’ is going to increasingly be seen.

Nostalgia is the theme of ‘All our Yesterdays’ a website that I like.

Yesterday it posed the question –

‘Did your mother leave the door unlocked in the 1950s?’

There were hundreds of comments mostly answering ‘YES’.

I answered 'No, my mother left a note - ‘Key under the mat'

She did, that’s how trusting they were in those days.

But never mind 'All our Yesterdays’ I want to talk about 'All YOUR Tomorrows ‘Why do I emphasise ‘YOUR’ Tomorrows?  - Have you seen my age ?

The Headline about drones in my last post was prompted by the news that 3D printers will soon be able to manufacture a wide range of three dimensional objects in various materials including plastic, glass, titanium etc .

Amazon are experimenting with delivering with Drones, but many physical goods will soon be deliverable using a 3D printer.

Place your order and Amazon will send a digital blueprint of the item to your printer, and hey presto, no waiting in for days for the parcel.

Hence my comment that the trial deliveries by Drone will be outdated before they begin.

It is an indication of the speed at which our world is changing. Inventions outdated before they’ve left the drawing board.

And at today’s exponential speed of change it won’t be Here today and gone Tomorrow it will be Here today and gone Today.

I see this as a two edged sword

Whilst rapid change will be massively good and transform the lives of the poor and desperate of the world, it could deter innovators and inventors if their creations are out of date before seeing the light of day

3D printers will also revolutionise the parts industry The down time for machinery waiting for a spare part will be cut dramatically.

The digital drawing for the part will be sent to the computer and the part printed on site will save on delivery costs and production down time.

Carl Bass of Autodesk is a leader in 3D printer technology, and according to the book I'm reading there is a motorcycle and aero engine produced using 3D printer technology on display at the Autodesk demonstration gallery in San Francisco.

I’ve been on the gallery website but there is no mention of the above exhibits. There are sculptures and artworks produced using the 3D technology though.

Carl Bass is excited that 3D printers able to manufacture a wide range of three dimensional objects in plastic, glass, titanium etc will soon be as commonplace as inkjet printers.

The concept will drastically reduce production costs for many physical products.

Tissue engineering pioneer Anthony Atala of Wake Forest University Medical Centre sees possibilities in producing human body parts.

Prosthetic limbs are being produced now.

But our dear old Drones will still have an important part to play in photography, surveying, surveillance. Plenty for them to do.

What is this Crypto Crap?

Someone who knew I had bought a bit of  Bitcoin and was very interested in the subject asked me - What is this Crypto Crap?

And that is a problem. Most of the sensational headlines about Cryptocurrencies ( There are now more than 800!) are about price action driven by speculators speculating.

Buyers and sellers playing the financial markets that this new currency Bitcoin and its ilk are for real. Here to stay and will displace the present stuff.

There aren’t many ordinary citizens going about their business and shopping for their daily needs thinking  - 'We need a new currency'. They see no issues with what they’ve got. It is accepted (with a few Venezuela like exceptions) without question wherever they tender it.

For Bitcoin to be accepted for everyday mainstream use, its going to have to overcome a similar perception that the Ipad first had - Something you didn’t know you needed, but now can’t live without.

I can’t see it getting to that status.

Not a fair comparison perhaps. But Jack and Jill public will want to see that there is some advantage to it for them

After all the test to apply to a new invention is - Does it solve a problem? Does it satisfy a need? Does it provide value?

Yes they understand that borderless Bitcoin  will enable big business to move money around the world easier and cheaper.

And on an individual level it will give them a new option for exchanging foreign currency for their holidays

Otherwise as the man said - come on convince me. - What is this Cryypto Crap?

Now you may wonder what is the old fool doing putting pictures of dogs in a cryptocurrency article. But there is a connection and its how I came by the picture source.

I was following up on the snippet about Dogecoin cryptocurrency I shared in a previous post – a reminder -

How about Dogecoin (pronounced Doggie-coin)…

Dogecoin is a new cryptocurrency for pet lovers…

It’s accepted at a number of stores to purchase everything from leashes to an animal DNA test kit… or you could use it to pay for a “dogsitter” when you go on vacation.

In a 7-day period, Dogecoin’s value increased by a whopping 267%!

So could dog lovers be leading the way in actually using a crypto currency to buy everyday things.Whatever, it led me to a dog loving facebook page - @alikeforalick and I am pleased to be able to bring you a few of the incredible and funny pictures . Enjoy.

Bitcoin Historic Day Collectors Souvenir Keepsake

Yesterday, August 1st  2017, was A Momentous Day – mark my words – A Landmark Day -  for Cryptocurrencies and particularly Bitcoin which split into Bitcoin and Bitcoincash. This was thought necessary to handle and speed up the huge increase in transactions on the network.

There could be wild price volatility during the shakedown period before a consensus forms about direction and show some semblance of stability.

But I feel in years to come this day will be looked back upon as the day - after several charges up the runway – Bitcoin took off - destination – Mainstream Takeover.

The Cryptocurrency Genie is out of the Bottle

To mark the occasion what better than a souvenir picture of the man considered to be the genius inventor of a computer code so powerful as to change history.

“I bought and framed this for my business partner and he loves it almost as much as he loves his bitcoin!” “CoinedBits nailed satoshi nakamoto. Best I’ve ever seen!”.

Proudly display your bitcoin fervor at home, the office or paste ’em all over public places to help spread the bitcoin revolution.

Love this cool keepsake. Satoshi Nakamoto definitely deserved this honor. I was sure to display it in my office as soon as I was gifted it and am already getting lots of comments and discussion about it (which is great to liven things up around any workplace, especially with digital currency geeks).

This is a BitCoin Collector/Fan's MUST-HAVE. I was blown away with the concept and the super awesome illustration of Nakamoto. So clever and so well done. I love how CoinedBits captures the somewhat mysterious nature of Nakamoto by shielding his eyes with the BitCoin mark -- and I LOVE how legit it looks on a TIME Magazine cover.

Seriously, if you know someone who is into crypto-currency, this is the most unique gift they will ever get and they will love you for it. Or, if you happen to be one yourself, add this to your collectibles, hang it in your office, whatever... you're going to love it and you will also love the conversations it starts.

"If goods don't cross borders soldiers will" - Frederick Bastiat

"If goods don't cross borders soldiers will" - Frederick Bastiat

The quote above by Frederick Bastiat should be in the forefront of the Brexit negotiators minds, and whilst it has no direct relevance to Cryptocurrencies they are an indication of the way things are going because the currencies are border-less. Bitcoin and similar are the same or will be soon in every country in the world thanks to the internet.

Even pets are getting in on the act -

Dogecoin  pronounced Doggie-Coin is a new Cryptocurrency alternative to Bitcoin for dog and pet lovers…

What started as a joke meme featuring a likeness of the Japanese Shiba Inu dog to mock the frenzy surrounding Bitcoin, has turned seriously serious into a Bitcoin type alternative currency because of the unexpected growth in interest and followers.

It now has a listing on Bittrex and other Crypto exchanges symbol(doge) with a fast growing capitalization, US $188 million July 2017 but subject to big price volatility, reflecting the uncertainty with Bitcoin and all the new Cryptos.

With over 800 'Me Too' crypto startups  trying to imitate Bitcoin, there will be many big price jumps and falls, successes and failures, before the markets stabilise revealing the survivors for the long term.

Because Cryptocurrency is electronic, using the internet computers and smartphones for transactions, is international, borderless, anonymous, and the world is full of dog lovers, then Doge coin stands a very good chance of continuing its unexpected transformation from a joke dog meme to an international currency.

It’s already accepted at many stores to purchase everything from leashes to an animal DNA test kit… or you could use it to pay for a “dogsitter” when you go on vacation.

Cryptocurrency ATMs are already appearing in shops - see image - There will be pressure on petshops to accept dogecoin for both payment by smartphone and using Crypto tokens issued by ATMs

The pace of change is astonishing, but progress cannot be halted. The Crypto  Genie is out of the bottle.

These penny crypto-currencies are HOT

You may have seen previously a post of mine titled  - My friend John Duncan of bit-talk.info just tweeted.

He's done it again and excelled today with a promotion for a new monthly Cryptocurrency newsletter of which he is the Investment Director.

The sales letter itself announcing the launch reveals some exciting news snippets.

At £37 for a year it represents incredible value as you will see in the full sales letter here at this link - http://bit.ly/2uJjb6e

The free bonus cryptocurrency ebooks and videos are worth more than that themselves. This is a screenshot from the letter.

And no I am not an affiliate. I am not being paid to promote this. I just think the revelations will interest many in the Steemit and Blogger community.

The invitation to subscribe letter can be read in full at this link - http://bit.ly/2uJjb6e

Here are some extracts

“These penny crypto-currencies are the hottest market on earth – but they won’t stay this cheap for long.”

Take for example, a penny crypto-currency called Reddcoin…

Reddcoin was specifically created to be used for purchases across the social media networks… like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

People love it because they can shop online with enhanced security and complete anonymity.

And in a recent 7-day period, the price of Reddcoin exploded in value by a whopping 1,134%!

That’s enough to turn £20 into almost £227… or £200 into £2,268.

Imagine…

Starting the week with £200…

And then ending the week with £2,268…

All with doing NO EXTRA WORK.

And all simply because you bought Reddcoin at the start of the week… and cashed out 7 days later.

Incredible, right?

Or how about Dogecoin (pronounced Doggie-coin)…

Dogecoin is a new alternative currency for pet lovers…

It’s accepted at a number of stores to purchase everything from leashes to an animal DNA test kit… or you could use it to pay for a “dogsitter” when you go on vacation.

In that same 7-day period, Dogecoin’s value increased by a whopping 267%!

But as exciting as that is, it’s nothing compared to a new alternative currency for folks living in the ‘Big Apple’… called NewYorkCoin.

That’s because the price of NewYorkCoin jumped an amazing 2,871%, OVERNIGHT.

In other words, if you had bought £20 of NewYorkCoin on that Monday… it would have been worth £571 by Tuesday.

But here’s where it gets even better…

The price of NewYorkCoin continued to climb. Prices jumped a staggering 56,606% over just a week … turning every £100 into over £56,606.

And if you had decided to get aggressive… and plunked down £2,000… you would be sitting on over £1.1 million today.

Imagine that!

More than £1,000,000 in profit…

In just one week!

You might not realize this, but there are now over 831 crypto-currencies exchanging hands on the open market.

And more and more traders and businesses have decided Bitcoin and crypto are here for real. Here is picture evidence of that -

Image credit  Agora Financial UK Ltd.
As Bloomberg reports:

“While the record-breaking rally in Bitcoin has captivated markets, demand for other digital coins is surging as companies raise millions in minutes, or even seconds…”

That gives us a rare chance to turn back the hands of time, and get into crypto-currencies that are dumping MILLIONS into the laps of everyday investors.

Go ahead, look it up for yourself after reading this. You’ll find that what I’m telling you is 100% accurate!

That’s how exciting today’s opportunity in penny crypto-currencies truly is…

I could go on and on…

But here’s what you need to know right now…

“These penny crypto-currencies are the hottest market on earth – but they won’t stay this cheap for long.”

Point being, this market is hotter than any traditional investing market you’ve ever known…

Hotter than any government currency…

Hotter than any stock on earth…

You’re already seeing Bitcoin hit record highs. And that’s OK…

Because these other crypto-currencies can go for as little as a few pennies…

That means that even ‘first timers’ can afford to do this without risking much money.

Just look at this snapshot from Tuesday, May 23rd’s biggest percentage gains in these ‘alternative currency’ markets: (See the letter)

As you can see, there were six different penny crypto-currencies that rocketed up over 300% in just 24 hours.

Six different chances to change your life…

Six different chances to grow rich...

In just a single day!

It gets better…

There were 21 crypto-currencies that went up more than 100% on this same day!

That's 21 different chances to double your money in a single 24-hour period!

Ask yourself…

Where else can you find profit opportunities like this?

Well, I'll tell you the answer…

NOWHERE!

To give you an idea of how profitable this situation really is, let's compare this to the biggest gains from stocks trading on Wall Street in the US...

It's not even close.

And that was just from a single day's data.

It's the same scenario day after day.

Now is the time to get in early, bearing in mind investments can go down as well as up so only risk what you can afford to lose, without touching the grocery money.

Be guided to the rapidly changing prices by subscribing to the newsletter at £37 for one year and receive invaluable information regularly and bonus cryptocurrency ebooks and videos. Free.

The letter can be read in full here at this link - http://bit.ly/2uJjb6e

Bitcoin – The People's Currency – Semi Official

Today I got news that I think is an extraordinary boost for those who believe cryptocurrency is the future.

From an ex US government insider

Dr Pippa Malmgren used to be part of the US Plunge Protection Team. The officially named Working Group on Financial Markets that researched market crashes to learn how to prevent them getting out of hand. It also helped draft statements for policy officials, intended to move markets.

So she’s no conspiracy theorist or alarmist – quite the opposite. She worked at the sharp end of government intervention in financial markets. And these days, that’s all that matters to financial markets.

Dr Malgrens incredibly well-informed past makes this quote from her ‘Macro Voices’ podcast interview rather startling:

"You have got to understand if the size of your debt problem is so big that it can’t be paid off and in fact even inflation, which is the usual way you would seek to default on your debt slowly over time, you can’t get enough inflation generated, then there is one further option. And that is you literally abandon the entire system of money, and accounting. I know that sounds unbelievably radical, but we have seen it happen before”.

There you have it, a currency system reset is now mainstream. Dr Malmgren also tells us how the coming reset will play out:

“Today, we are on the brink of a similar step change, and the way you will do it is you move to electronic money in conjunction with blockchain. Blockchain is the new ledger, and e-money is the new currency.”

She is saying the coming reset will be to a form of cryptocurrency. Probably a selection of national ones, or an international one. Your economic life could soon be running on cryptocurrencies.

It’s no surprise that technology (Internet,Computers,Smartphones,Blockchain) enables financial change. It’s always been the case with every reset. Mining and minting, the printing press, digital currency and now the blockchain. It’s a natural progression.

What is very surprising is that a government insider is telling you the coming reset will be to Cryptocurrencies. That’s a major break.

It used to be radical to say that governments would try to inflate their way out of the impossible amount of debt they’re in. These days it’s not even radical to suggest instead a complete reset of the monetary system to a form of electronic money that the government is busy demonising.

This confirmation from inside government circles certainly puts a lot of what’s going on into perspective.

The Signs are There

The global war on cash, for example. India’s experiment with forcing commerce online is shaping up to be a success after a very turbulent few months. Someone even named their baby GST, after the new Indian version of VAT.

Then there’s Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and his meeting with the developer of Ethereum. Not to mention the many small approvals of blockchain technology for use in financial markets around the world.

But there are plenty of bumps in the road too.

Dr Malmgren identified the longer-term issue at stake if governments do start to utilize cryptocurrency technology.

Who issues, owns and controls the currency?

For now, cryptocurrencies are private initiatives. Although Singapore is testing a government version.

The power to control and mint money is simply too big for governments to give up. It puts their entire revenue base at risk. Not to mention the ability to control the economy.

What sort of privacy goes with a cryptocurrency?

It’s called “crypto” for a reason. And privacy is one of the features making cryptocurrencies so popular to begin with. They’re hard to crack down on.

If two people can transact anonymously over the internet using a token they consider to be of value, then a new cryptocurrency can be born no matter what the government does to try and stop it. The power of cryptocurrencies comes with the feature of decentralisation – what governments fear most.

But, there are many other benefits of the blockchain over and above privacy. It’s certainly superior to government money today.

The opposition’s positions

Standing in opposition to the coming reset are voters. They rather like cash.

And it’s not just in Greece and Italy, where cash and tax avoidance go hand in hand. Germany and Japan, for example, love cash too.

But as Dr Malmgren explained, at some point a reset is needed. And cryptocurrencies offer one option as  the replacement system. You need to understand them to stay one step ahead of the coming reset.
